Ash Wednesday: Beginning to reflect on Mercy

Today is Ash Wednesday and heralds the beginning of Lent. We hope to move forward from the ashes of the past and build a brighter future, living in the Heart of Love, blessed by Mercy.

We will be posting reflections on Mercy through Lent.

Mercy

We see mercy as being greater than forgiveness, in the sense that mercy is immediate and total love, vanquishing all hurt, whereas we see forgiveness as a process.

We believe that even if we cannot forgive specific acts or harms or if this takes a very long time to achieve, you can still call on God’s Mercy to come to your aid and soften your heart and you will know that that mercy will be greater than any unforgiveness, focussed on rightness and fairness, faithfulness and compassion and bring new hope to your hurting heart.

Poem for a much loved dog

I  know you still miss me. Remember, You can talk to my bones If you should pass them by For they hold sacred memories of our time together....
