A Poem about the love and commitment of a Carer and a prayer for them

Some have the power

Some have the power
Others the glory,

Some wear a white coat
And a stethoscope
Others a collar.

Some have a desk
To hide behind
Others have influence
And millions of dollars.

The Carer has none of these,
No clothes, no title, no power,
no role to fall back on, no
revolution, no restitution .

Alone and naked
They have only
Their confusion
About which
They have been stripped
Of all illusion.

In endless seclusion
They try to ease their
loved one’s pain
The agony for which there is solution,
With bare, empty hands
And a broken heart
That understands,
They take their long, long stand.

May all carers who support Their loved ones especially find strength and comfort today. May their lives be blessed and filled with inner peace, as they try to ease the suffering of those they love. Lord help them, graciously, tenderly help them. Amen.

I  know you still miss me. Remember, You can talk to my bones If you should pass them by For they hold sacred memories of our time together....
