Asking for Healing and Foregiveness

How important thise two words, “I’m sorry”, are to heal hurt, when genuinely spoken.

For all the moments, a blessing

 

For all the moments I have to wait for anything at all

may they bless me

For all the people I cannot see because I am having to endlessly wait

may they bless me

For all the moments I cannot do anything

may they bless me

For every non-event in my life may I see the wonder of the moment instead

may it bless me

For every inaction I endure may there be a blessing in disguise

may it bless me

For every moments pain may I feel grace in action upon me

may it bless me

For all moments happy or intolerable may they still bless me

A blessing for birds

 

It is so cold in our garden at the moment with freezing temperatures. I remember all the lovely birds that have graced our garden and the skies above. Sadly too few remain. May they all be safe. Amen 

I bless the birds who live in our garden 

Each one a precious thought of God 

Touching our lives in tender ways.

I bless each one

The feisty robin

The loving dove

The loyal blackbird

The flitting bluetit

The bold goldfinch

The greedy pigeon

The regal red kite

Each one with its own story to tell

It’s own place in our history

Bless the pigeon who fell down the chimney

Bless the blackbird who drove off the raven

Bless the baby robin who jumped on my toe

Bless the bluetits who flit to and fro

Bless the dove who came to my call

Bless the sparrows, one and all

Bless the red kite who glides gracefully through the sky

Bless the house martins who continually fly

I bless their lives that bring such joy

I bless their feathers, that keep them warm and dry

I bless their beaks that help them forage

I bless their wings that lift them out of harms way

I bless their feet that hold them up in all weathers

I bless their trust in finding food each day

I bless their nests and the baby birds yet to live here

May they all feel safe

May they all be blessed

May every bird of the air

A blessing for new Year.

Bless the past,

May all be held in love.

Heal each hurt.

Rejoice in each joy

Let us appreciate what was precious.

Bless the future

May our steps be guided safely forward

May there be many happy, hope-filled moments.

May we stay safe upon our life’s journey.

Bless the present

May it be a source of strength, comfort 

and hope for the days ahead

May we live in conscious awareness

Of the special gift of life we have been given.

Let us recognise the beauty and goodness in all things.

Light

Somehow , in the face of poverty, lies, denial, overwhelming misinterpretation and endless suffering, we have persevered, not given up.

Perhaps the worse part of prolonged isolation is how you start to doubt yourself, to question your motives when you try to explain, to feel foolish when you take a stand or hesistent when you try to articulate your incomprehensible needs.

I have been thinking about these things, about how to deal with what lies ahead, this year, we have major challenges coming up; I wonder how we’ll possibly manage?

The miracle is we will.

Shortly before Linda and I got married, Leonard Cohen sang “There is a crack in everything, that is how the light gets in”. I have held onto those words and found them true.

No matter how grim or impossible the horrendous things we have had to face down the years, the light of love, of truth, compassion and spirit, inevitably, has always found a way to affirm, strengthen, inspire, guide and lift us up.

So we keep going.

Never losing hope, even when hope seems to have gone. It still manages to rise again, helping us move forward and face the unknown.
