My wife does not get to Church at all. It is Mercy that has sustained us both, down these many years of suffering and torment. It is Mercy that has helped us survive.
If anything, I hope the Church will learn how the poor know what Mercy is: the unleashing of the full power of love into our world, into each and everyone’s life, into all of time and space and beyond, through the Cross.
Here is one of my wife’s beautiful, powerful insights :
“We must see the Cross with spiritual eyes, to see the presence of God within it, to see the Heart of Love at work, pouring all healing, all mercy into a broken world, restoring life through the power of the resurrection and the coming of the Spirit of Truth.
This outpouring of Mercy brings a way to love, to redemption, a way to forgiveness and a way to be healed that is beyond words and description, for it is the totality of goodness poured out to embrace sin and pain, to redeem it once and forever, so that there is no hurt that cannot be healed, no one lost, unless they choose it, no one hurting that can be abandoned, for Mercy in all its tenderness enwraps each hurting soul in peace, hope, joy, comfort, consolation, forgiveness and acceptance for all time.
There is nothing greater than the power of Mercy, flowing through humanity to redeem all life forevermore. It is truly beyond words, can be seen only with spiritual eyes, is present for everyone, to heal all hurt, straddle all souls. “
