Prayer of the Spirit

I call upon the Lord,

My God, my God,

You are my God,

Come save and rescue me

In you I trust

It is you I trust

Peace is here

Your Peace is here

All is well

Let all be well

Peace is mine

Your Peace is mine

I call upon the Lord

The Lord is with me now.

Amen!

Sea of Peace

 

Truly there is a sea of peace which flows from the sanctuary of God’s Heart, ever present, ever flowing, ever comforting, yet still.

 

It calms me. I float upon it. I bathe in it. It renews and strengthens me. It brings me joy and beauty beyond words. It is the Word of God in all His fullness entering into me and carrying me onwards yet bathing me in silent stillness that embraces me and blesses every moment of my being.

 

Yet how hard it is to find this. I am battered right now. Paralysis has left me dull, exhausted, incapable. God’s light is goden, His peace is perfect, yet I lie somewhere else in my awareness. He is within me. This I know, yet it is hard to feel the  goodness of His presence amongst the neurological destruction of this illness.

 

At times like these then , I must look to Trust and hold on tight lest I be battered too much and fall into despair and there remain.

 

I trust in the Lord. He holds me together, even when I know it not nor feel it not. I trust in the Lord. He brings me safe passage through every nightmare sensation my body can experience. I trust in the Lord, in the fullness of His promise : “I am with you to the end of time”.

 

New Year prayers

 

We start the New Year in prayer. It seems so important at this time of new beginning that we turn our attention and our focus towards God who blesses our life in all abundance. I want to feel the goldeness of His presence, the tenderness of His might, the truth of His Love and send out that blessing to the whole year ahead so that we can walk in the power of that blessing, through every moment of this year.

 

The energy of the year is surely lighted with the essence of God’s love and the power of every goodness at every turn waiting to be discovered, turned to, chosen and held and this must surely be the hope of the year and the joy of the year and the truth of the year, that God is truly with us and every moment is full of His possibility.

WORDS

 WORDS CAN GET IN THE WAY

Sometimes words, opinions, positive thinking, finding solutions, suggesting actions, get in the way of just being present and hearing the person, feeling their pain, conveying through your entire self that you are listening, not judging them.

Sometimes there are no answers, no solutions, no clear ways forward, just the sharing. This may be more than enough , in that moment, for the person.

To truly be listened to and heard is fundamentally life bringing, affirming, healing. Never forget this.

It can work miracles of healing or become the first step in a long process of dealing with pain, grief, deep wounds, isolation, separation, negation.

Blessing

 

When all is impossibly hard and I cannot think to prey, I turn to the light of blessing.

I bless my body

I bless my mind

I bless my awareness

I bless my peace

I bless my wisdom

I bless my soul

I bless my space

I bless my life

Today

And every moment

May I totally reside 

In Your Peace

New Year, New Light

As we enter another year of uncertainty, we focus on light  in the World. We have learned that no matter how grim or impossible things might seem or be, love is much, much greater.

The light never goes out.

Ultimately truth always triumphs, however long it takes. This we have found to be so, through thirty-three years of denial, never-ending agony, tortuous struggles and all the complexities of life.

Leonard Cohen once sang “There is a crack in everything, that’s how the light gets in”.
I hold onto those words, now, as ever as we light a candle of hope for the New Year.

We hope that you find understanding in difficult situations.

We hope that you can always find peace that will lead you onto better things.

May you never feel unheard, uncared for, mistreated or hurt and hopeless, especially if things are tough.
